Strengths NONE!!!
Weaknesses Engine exploded! Used only a few times. Lowes wants to argue about who is responsible for fixing it, troy bilt or B&S. Meanwhile, I have no mower.
Overall I wish I would have read here first. I would have not ever purchased such a piece of junk. A machine that is backed by no honorable warranty. Beware, save your thousand bucks!

Strengths b&s motor
Weaknesses belts will not stay on/blades turn with pto in the off position/continues to move with gear in neutral
Overall will never again buy anything with troy-bilt on it.am very displeased with this product. wish i had researched before purchasing

Overall Purchased this 6 month old mower from an estate sale. I used it the first season and replaced the belts twice and the blades with OEM parts. I have always kept fresh clean oil in the engine and change it regularly after 3 mowings (about 6 hours). It has never cut grass without leaving a streak in the center of uncut grass, (yes, the blades are the correct length). The second season replaced the belts four times and the blades twice, they seem to wear down rapidly. This year on the first cutting I had to replace the belts and the blades. on the second cutting this year (today) I cut about 100 feet and the motor threw the crankshaft thru the back of the engine. Off to the store to buy a new mower, definatly not a Troy-Built

Strengths Cuts grass. Period. Comfortable.
Weaknesses Bad carb. Troy just changed carb supplier because of gas leakage into oil. Now charging system is bad. And some engine rattle is bad. Troy Bilt has no customer support. They do not care. I am not even close to being finished with them.
Overall Worst investment ever!! $999.00. I will get this fixed and sell it.

Strengths Looks good, that's it.
Weaknesses Every thing about it, twice now it has filled the oil with gasoline, that is comforting. It stays in gear even when in neutral, I have to mow twice to make my grass presentable. It scalps real bad. It is extremly loud. Of course it has already ate one belt. Every once in a while it starts smoking so bad you can not stand to mow with it.
Overall I bought this in 2004 and I think it is the worst buying decision I have ever made. This is a very good day because today I have found someone to haul mine off, I refuse to put another dime in such a worthless machine.
