Strengths NONE

Weaknesses IT WORKED FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS, 1 SEASON. I HAVE TO MAKE 2 OR 3 PASSES OVER SAME PATH TO GET CUT. NEW BLADES,SAME PROBLEM. WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK. WOULD LIKE TO FIND SOMEONE TO PAWN IT OFF ON SO I CAN GET A HONDA.

Overall

Strengths if i only had one flat acre,this would be the perfect machine,fast enough to do the job in short order.

Weaknesses the fact that one twig can pull the deck belt off assisted by the fact that there are no deck wheels is what really bothers me.How much would it cost them to include wheels?How about giving us the option?

Overall i can find no one to tell me how to put my belt back on.There are no diagrams,i even called Lowe's and got a ration from the guy I bought it from about how they won't touch it and this is not a warranty problem.I called the makers of the machine and they gave me a wrong list of warranty mechanics.Should have gone to sears...

Strengths Good and strong Briggs & Stratton engine. Nice looking machine, but it's a lawn tractor...who cares.

Weaknesses Poor deck design...too low with no leveling wheels. Starting to have problems with transmission slipping. Have also had to replace one of the blade shaft/bearing assemblies ($65)

Overall For the $$$ I had to spend at the time and the amount of use the mower had been subjeced to, it was an okay purchase. I wish I had been able to afford better quality and will be more picky with my next mower.

Strengths none! although the shift on the go is good but have to depress clutch to down shift

Weaknesses the deck sucks. the blades suck always bending. the oem belt is too big and falls off, bought one an inch shorter and it is too short. with deck "leveler" turned down all the way the cut is still uneven to the left side

Overall i hate this damn machine, just replaced the starter and solenoid

Strengths motor is very strong.use it to pull twin jetski trailer around yard.very fast in high gear.can mow very high grass with no problem even in a high gear.

Weaknesses the deck has no wheels.tranny started to leak gear grease due to factory overpacking trans case.

Overall tranny leak goes away once the over amount of grease comes out.cut two pieces of L channel and bought some wheels.mower now cuts like a champ.

Strengths go runs well. mows fast very well.somewhat noisyo

Weaknesses deck to low scalps on sharp turns. front end steering loose when new.

Overall fair mower for the price would buy again if priced right.

Strengths Comfortable and plenty of power. Good turning radius.

Weaknesses THE DECK!! It has no stablizing wheels, so it digs going over highspots and uneven cut on turns. This leads to the deck being constantly re-leveled. They have a wheel kit, but you have to pay $100 for it. Very bad packaging. Saw on at lowes yesterday that was returned because of this issue.

Overall

Strengths nice looking design and head lights, 17.5 hp is strong enough to tug along shift on the go is nice, adjustable seat.

Weaknesses poor design no deck wheels to move with the turf instead you must set the level high or you will ground out, i constantly have problems with the front tires, engine is slightly loud and now my foward gear is jerking and looks to be leaking grease so not able to cut - to the repair shop we go, buy a honda you cant go wrong,,

Overall overall this machine sucks.

Strengths Good cut...reasonably priced compared to others.

Weaknesses Comes with very thin blades...must be replaced or will bend if you hit a pine cone...vibration then turns the deck to rubble! Poorly designed...three times in the shop within 20 hours of service...in now for 5 weeks waiting on a part...safety switch in seat cuts engine off if the driver isn't positioned perfectly...very irritating.

Overall Not a good piece of equipment (except for the excellent Briggs engine)...MTD junk.

Strengths Fast, sharp cutting...for the short time it works without repair.

Weaknesses Extremely poor engineering. It's obvious that the addition of a cutting deck was an afterthought, as nothing lines up properly. The mower drive belt is forced to thread through an area that will wear the belt out within weeks.

Overall Do not buy this VERY POORLY DESIGNED machine!!
