Overall horrible. Got exactly 1 and a half yard mowings before it came to a stop. After warranty people said it would be 6 weeks to pick up I had it worked on locally. The locals were reluctant to do so. After a year and amost the cost of the mower it still doesnt move faster than 1 mi/hr. DO NOT BUY ONE! POS!

Strengths Mine has been great! I must have gotten lucky from what I hear. I bought it from Lowes and it was a return that had been fixed. The tag said it had a starting problem and the they spent $350 to fix it. It was marked down to half price! It has been great though.. I've had it since 2005 and finally broke the first belt a Monty ago cutting gas I had no business trying to cut with it. I actually use this for home and business purposes now. I think the key is keeping it out of the elements.

Overall Buy a John Deere. You get what you pay for and this is garbage.

Strengths Looks good. Plenty of power. Easy oil change. Easy to remove cutting deck.

Weaknesses Reputation. This unit has a bad reputation on the internet. People buy these things at Lowes for a little over a grand, don't know how to use or maintain them and then whine and cry when they have to pay someone else to repair them. These are the same folks who don't rotate tires on their cars, don't change the oil regularly and continue to drive when the brakes are squeaking. Then they complain when a brake job costs over $100. But I digress. . . .

Overall This is a great value for the money. As long as you can follow directions, use common sense and take proper care of this tractor, it should last for many years. I've been cutting 2.5 acres per week for two years with no problems and I bought this thing used. The previous owner had performed all of his own maintenance and took very good care of it. He hired a lawn service and I bought the tractor. Good deal for me!

Strengths STRENGTHS: LOADED WORD, I PURCHASED A 2008 BRONCO ON 01/2010 ,THE FIRST TIME I USED IT WAS A DISASTER,IT WOULD NOT START, BROKE BELTS,NOISE FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. NO STRONG POINT I LOST MONEY

Weaknesses THE WHOLE TRACTIS IS A PIECE CRAP. CANT SAY ANYTHING GOOD, I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS TRACTOR TO MY WORSE ENEMY.

Overall PIECE OF JUNK AND ALL TROY BILT IS INTERESTED IN IS YOUR MONEY NOT PLEASING THE CONSUMER.

Strengths Starts promptly. Blades engage without problem.

Weaknesses Seat and/or steering wheel positioning not comfortable, make rider need to lean forward. Seat could be better.

Overall Sound investment so far. After two years, had a pulley bearing freeze, but was replaced under warranty without hassle.

Overall I am dissatisfied with the overall performance of the mower only had mine since April 2010 and it is already giving me problems, It is making a loud roaring noise when blade is engaged and it is very difficult to go in gear, which is a big problem and I have had a problem with Lowes getting it serviced, it has took over 4 weeks to get the mower to a authorized service center for warranty work and when the company came to pick up my mower, they had 2 more identical to mine on the trailer that they had picked up from a Lowes store in the area, those 2 also had problems and were under warranty, ITS SCARY

Strengths The mower is easy to use and has been very dependable so far. No propblems running it starting. I have not had any belt issues as of yet, but have only owned it for 2 years though. easiest oil change I have ever done on tractor.

Weaknesses It needs new battery already, have to charge it before every use now, especially if I go more than a week in between cuts. I hate how you cannot go in reverse with PTO engaged. The brake lock sticks. I never use it because of how tough it is to get brake released when it does stick.

Overall I have bronco with 18hp Koehler engine, Overall good tractor, cannot complain.

Strengths When it's working it mows fairly fast on smooth open ground.

Weaknesses V drive system is AWFUL. It's difficult to switch from forward to reverse (lever doesn't want to move). Drive belt broke the 2nd time we used it. It was then in the authorized repair shop waiting on parts the rest of the summer. Only got to use it twice. THIS YEAR: Used three times, now the belt is out again. This is not rough use or high grass. The first time we were told it came from the factory with a defective pulley. I don't yet know what has happend now. It's a good thing I saved my old worn out Craftsman mower!!! The Troy doesn't stear as well as our old mower and certainly does not have the advertised power.

Overall When we took it in for repairs last year the repairman found a very small pine cone laying on the deck and informed us that running over even a small pine cone could void the warranty. RUNNING OVER A PINE CONE!! Seems they can get caught in the belt/pulleys... I guess we are supposed to rake the yard prior to mowing each time? A word of advice - DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE UNLESS YOU HAVE TIME/MONEY TO BURN!!!

Strengths When operational it will cut a lot of grass

Weaknesses Apparently the pulleys. My drive belt for the cutting deck jumped off. I found a machine bolt on the top of the cutting deck but I still can't find where the bolt goes or how to get tension on the belt.

Overall To cost as much as it does....it simply isn't what it should be. Troy-Bilt once was a quality machine..... Ever since MTD has been manufacturing the product the quality as been terrible. This is the second Super Bronco I have had. With the first one, the wiring harness caught on fire and burned up and could not be repaired. Lowe's did not want to replace the mower only give a "store credit". Only until I threatened them with a lawsuit did they relent and give me a second mower. Now I have a cutting deck problem with it.
